The Del Mar Pines School Curriculum Instruction and Assessment Team was created to fulfill our Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) action items over the next three years. The goals of the team this year are to facilitate and lead Engage NY math adoption, curriculum mapping for math, create the WASC midterm document and welcome the visiting team in March.
The members of this team are:
Bette Davis – First Grade Teacher
Mrs. Davis has taught at the elementary school level for two decades. She was an Honors Graduate in Child Development from California State University, Fullerton. She and her husband have one son.
Mr. Fausel received his Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from San Diego State University in 2007. In 2009, he joined the Peace Corps where he was placed in Kyrgyzstan. There he discovered his passion for education by teaching all levels of English to under-privileged children, as well as training teachers on methodology and multiple intelligence’s. When he returned home, he earned his Multiple Subject Teaching Credential as well as a Master of Arts in Education with an emphasis on Digital Teaching and Learning from Azusa Pacific University. Mr. Fausel and his wife enjoy traveling.
Marci McCord – Director
rs. McCord graduated from the University of California at Davis with a degree in Economics. She earned her teaching credential from University of San Diego. She has taught kindergarten, second, third and sixth grades at Del Mar Pines School. Marci and her husband have a daughter and a son who graduated from Del Mar Pines School.
Mrs. Goetsch received a Bachelor of Music Degree from Southern Illinois University and a Masters of Music Degree from the University of Wisconsin. She has also completed Level One of the Orff Certification program. Mrs. Goetsch also serves as Director of Music at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Encinitas, where she directs the Children’s and Adult choirs. She and her husband are the parents of one son and a graduate of Del Mar Pines School.
