Dear DMP Community,

As you know, we have applied for the waiver from SD County Public Health. They contacted me on Saturday to say that they were reviewing the application but had two questions that they wanted clarification on. I resubmitted the application with the requested information Saturday afternoon. I am hopeful that I will get an approval for our waiver application by this Thursday or Friday.

If our waiver is approved, the following information will be included in the update:

1. Waiver decision from County Health
2. Revised DMP Calendar
3. General COVID-19 Back to School Information- with information on staggered start/dismissal times, Ki’s School lunches, new recess/lunch schedule, Land’s End Uniform information, parent/teacher conferences, and more. We also have gently used uniforms on campus for families that would like to come and take a look.
4. Until further notice, we will not be able to offer before or aftercare on campus.
5. Since we cannot offer enrichment classes on campus, we are working on offering families several virtual afterschool programs. More information to follow.
6. Information on teacher and staff COVID-19 testing.
7. Recommendation for student/family COVID-19 testing through your physician prior to returning to school.

If our waiver is not approved (which I think is unlikely), you will receive the following information:

1. Waiver decision from County Health
2. Revised DMP Calendar
3. General COVID-19 Remote Learning Guidelines. Instructions on how to access your teacher’s Google Classrooms for assignments and Zoom links would be forthcoming.
I am looking forward to receiving a positive decision from the County and working with our amazing teachers, students, and parents to have a successful – yet very different – 2020/21 school year.
