Dear DMP Community,

Although we have not received the waiver approval yet, I heard from County Health today and they are sending our application to the state. We have done everything required in the waiver process, and I feel confident that we will be approved by the middle of next week. In addition, San Diego County’s metrics are also very positive for the reopening of schools. We are proceeding with plans to open on campus on Tuesday, September 8th.

Virtual Meet & Greet

We will be having a virtual Meet and Greet for parents and students with all classroom teachers on Friday, September 4. The teachers are excited to welcome you, show you what your classrooms look like, share some of the special things they have planned for the year, and answer your questions. Teachers will be sending Zoom links to their families before the event. Here is the class schedule.

  • Kindergarten 10:00 – 10:30
  • First Grade 10:40 – 11:00
  • Fifth Grade 11:05 – 11:25
  • Third Grade 11:30 – 11:5
  • Second Grade 12:00 – 12:20
  • Fourth Grade 12:30 – 12:50
  • Sixth Grade 1:00 – 1:20

Covid -19 Testing

All teachers/staff will be getting tested for COVID-19 the week before school begins, with the plan to have them retested approximately every two weeks. We are using Perlman Clinic which has an office at Del Mar Highlands. For the health and safety of our teachers and your children, we are highly recommending and encouraging that ALL students and families get tested before school begins, either through your primary care physician or Perlman Clinic which accepts most insurance. Regular testing as well as daily symptom checks are two of the most important ways to ensure that our school and community are as safe as possible. We thank you for your support.
