Shannon, a DMP alumni, shared her book Plugging Into Nature at an assembly with DMP students and visiting with many of her former teachers.
Shannon is an outdoor enthusiast, high school student and long-time Girl Scout. Shannon’s goal in writing her book was to encourage children to put down their electronics and go out into nature to experience the physical and mental benefits of being outdoors. She told our DMP students that she knew she could write and publish a book because when she was at DMP, she wrote a book every year, just like they are doing now. Shannon wrote her book as a part of her Girl Scout Gold Award project.
