DMP Safety: First Week Back from Winter Break

Dec 28, 2020 | , , | Marci McCord

With the winter break approaching, we all want our families to enjoy their important celebrations, traditions, and vacations, which will likely involve some travel and gatherings. The teachers and I believe that it is in our community’s best interest to have the first week back from vacation, January 4-8, remote. The purpose of having this week remote is to ensure that if any COVID symptoms appear in any of our DMP community members, they will be able to quarantine before coming on campus.

Parents will come and pick up their children’s work on Sunday, January 3rd, between 2:00 and 4:00 pm. In taking this precaution, we give our school the greatest chance of remaining open in the new year for as long as possible.

All teachers will be COVID tested on January 7th. We STRONGLY recommend that any students/families who traveled or gathered with anyone outside their household get tested and have a negative result before returning to school on January 11, 2020.

We are closely monitoring the situation and will continue to work with local public health as we move forward. I will also continue to share updates as they become available. I appreciate your flexibility and understanding as we adjust to these ever-changing conditions.

Stay healthy and safe,
Marci
