Graduation and Promotion
It is hard to believe that we are in the final weeks of the 2019/2020 school year. None of us could have imagined the year ending as it is with a pandemic and school closure, but I feel like we have all made the best of the situation by being flexible, adaptable, and willing to do what was necessary to continue our children’s education during this time. I want to thank you all for your hard work and determination as we all worked through this together!
Zoom Final Flag Salute
In order to complete the year in a special way, we will be hosting a Zoom “Final Flag Salute” Tuesday, June 9th at 8:30 am. All are invited to this event where we will say the Pledge of Allegiance, I will give a short speech about this year, we will have an at-home “Step Up Ceremony” where I will promote the students to their next grade, and then we will end with the song, “Party in the USA” that the students were practicing for Spring Sing. Since we can’t all be together, we feel this is the best option to end the year.
Due to our school closure on March 13th, our sixth-grade students were not able to perform their class musical, “Theseus and the Minotaur”. With the help of Mrs. Goetsch, they are resilient and figured out how to perform a condensed version of the play through Zoom.
We are planning to have a very small Graduation ceremony outside on the field for our sixth-grade graduates and their immediate family only on Wednesday, June 10 from 10:00 – 10:30. We will be live-streaming the ceremony for anyone in the community who would like to attend virtually.
